This film takes a satirical look at the realities facing most of Java’s marginalised forest farmers. Sabar’s desire to participate in the management of state-owned forest land, which at first is greeted with quizzical scepticism and ngoyoworo by his friends, finally receives the support of everyone. However, in their struggle to realize their dream there remain a great number of obstacles to be overcome. The first failure, when they face off against their supervisor, makes them work harder to achieve their goal. The drama is peppered with Javanese nuances, and is acted by real forest farmers. Reflecting the question mark in its title, the film also ends with a big question about whether or not the struggle of Sabar and the other farmers to fight for their rights is achieved.
