Menteri Kehutanan Zulkifli Hasan pada Jum’at 18 November 2011 akan melakukan kunjungan lapangan ke Badung-Bali serta berdialog dengan dengan Dewan Kerajinan Nasional Daerah (Dekranasda) Bali dan Asosiasi Pengrajin Industri Kecil (APIK) Buleleng. Kunjungan dan dialog di Bali ini dilakukan dalam rangka melihat secara langsung kesiapan kelompok usaha industri kecil menengah untuk implementasi sertifikasi legalitas kayu. Kunjungan lapangan dilakukan di industri UD Kasagama yang memproduksi kerajinan dan furnitur dari kayu di Dalung, Badung-Bali yang bekerjasama dengan Mitra Bali. (more…)

Jakarta, Indonesia, and the European Union on Wednesday signed an agreement aimed at stopping illegal logging and exports of illegally-sourced timber. The agreement, signed by Indonesian Forestry Minister Zulkifli Hasan and EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht, seeks to ensure that all timber and forest products imported to the European Union are produced in compliance with Indonesian laws.
