Annual Workplan MFP II 2009-2010

Concluding the Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of Indonesia and the United Kingdom signed in October 12th 2000, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Department for International Development (DfID) of the Government of the United Kingdom signed a Letter of Arrangement in October 11th 2008, committing an initial GBP 5 million for a period of three years (2008 - 2011) to a second phase of Forest Governance and Multistakeholder Forestry Programme (MFP). Annual Report 2008/2009 Forest Governance and Multistakeholder Forestry Programme 2007-2011

MFP II is run by a Progamme Management Unit (PMU). The PMU is responsible to share the work loads clearly. The team is consisting of 3 Directions where two Co Directors areresponsible on programme policy. However the Programme Director’s responsibility is onplanning, implementation, monitoring and consolidation that covers the rest of PMU activities. Two Secondees strengthens PMU function in handling policy and programme communication together with MoF specialized on TLAS implementation, VPA and CBFMpromotion. Two consultant experts are specialized on handling TLAS-VPA implementation that represent RI and UK government. The programme itself consists of three programme facilitators and supporting system that handle the programme administration and logistical arrangement. (more…)

CFs, A Concept of Community Empowering

Direction and successful parameters are much more determined by synergetical efforts that are layed down one each other between three developing actors. Civil Society’s roles (masyarakat madani)  have function as a balanced point of sustainable development that tend to be very important, since partnership with civil society sector will be able to create equal space of dialogue. Spacious and equality dialogue atmosphere should be dedicated for those whose complexity problems and conditions in which are being faced by community today. (more…)

Summary Annual Report Forest Governance and Multistakeholder Forestry Programme 2008/2009

Forest Governance and Multistakeholder Forestry Programme Phase II (MFP 2), is collaboration between the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Department for International Development (DfID) of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, was initiated to support better forestry governance. Focus MFP 2 period 20082011 is on the negotiation and an implementation of EU Government of Indonesia Voluntary Partnership Agreement on Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT-VPA). Multistakeholder Forestry Programme

The program objectives are to strengthen government and civil society partnerships at local and national levels to build capacity, empower community forest managers and develop and implement policy. In particular, the program will work to nurture and strengthen its network of Community Foundations in the regions, established with previous program support.
